Researchers from the Centre for the Advancement of Research on Emotion at the UWA School of Psychological Science are seeking volunteers aged between 30 and 50 to assist us in filming materials for use in research on the relationship between attention and anxiety. Evidence has demonstrated that attentional processes may underlie anxiety disorders and that altering these processes may lead to therapeutic benefits for sufferers of anxiety. We are currently trying to develop a video stimuli set to measure attention to emotional information and need people with Australian accents willing to be filmed. If you assist us in filming these videos you will receive $30 to remunerate you for your time and any costs incurred.
If you choose to participate, your assistance would involve being filmed while reading several short scripts (approx. 1 minute each) from a teleprompter. No previous acting experience is required. Each session will be scheduled for one hour, but it is anticipated that most sessions will take substantially less time. If you choose to help us, you will be asked to sign a release form allowing your video footage to be used for purposes related to research and therapeutic interventions.
If you are willing to assist us with this research, please click the signup link below, complete the contact form and a researcher will get in touch to arrange a mutually suitable time.
