Study Selection Information
In the below video, researchers from CARE discuss the possible studies you could complete as part of your honours degree. You will be asked to rank which studies you would most like to be a part of for your honours project. Further information on the ranking process is available below. Please use this information to guide you in which projects you might want to complete.
The selection process
You will be sent an excel spreadsheet which contains a list of all of the studies mentioned in the video above. This spreadsheet will have a column in which you can indicate your preferences, and we will do our best to match you to a study you would like to work on. You are free to preference as many or as few studies as you like, although we do encourage you to preference as many studies as you can. If we are unable to give you a study you have preferenced, we will select a study for you. Preferences are due in by 3pm on Thursday the 24th of Feb, and should be sent to Owen Myles in the spreadsheet sent to you.
There will be a Q&A session at 10am on Thursday in which you can ask any questions you might have about the projects. If you cannot make it at this time, or have further questions, please feel free to contact the researcher running the project you are interested in. For general inquiries you can contact Owen Myles. We will endeavour to get back to you with your assigned study prior to the commencement of semester.
Please also note: Following this process will maximise the probability that the Honours research project you take on will be of greatest interest to you. It also means that your resulting primary supervision may not come from the originally assigned supervisor, as either Lies, Ben or Colin would be primary supervisor on your chosen project. Should it be the case that you are not open to the possibility of changing from your initially assigned supervisor, then you can indicate this to our Student Affairs Manager, Owen Myles, who will remove you from the project ranking process (and your project would then be allocated to you by your assigned supervisor). However, we very much hope that you will consider all these available projects, decide upon which interests you most, and submit your preference rankings, as using this opportunity will result in the best match between your interests and the research project you complete this year.
